Jog-a-Thon! Kid's did great!

If you couldn't make the Jog-a-Thon today, you missed a great time. All the kids did a great job and really seemed to enjoy themselves.

Unfortunately we had to run inside today because it was raining when we were supposed to start. Still it was fun to see them run and encourage each other. Please enjoy this short clip of the event.

We will post what was raised after we get all the forms and pledges back next week. Thanks to all who participated and sponsored our kids.

Parent's Night Out!

"Wanna Get Away?" was how it was advertised and apparently some of you did! The kids had a great time running around for 3 solid hours. We had fantastic helpers and we heard that you parents were able to enjoy a little time for yourselves. We would like to do this again sometime. Eastside Christian School Holiday Bazaar and Silent Auction

Eastside Christian School will be hosting a Holiday Bazaar and Silent Auction on December 4th, 2010 from 9am-4pm. Please invite friends and family to attend this fundraising event. All proceeds will go to Eastside Christian School.

We are looking for vendors to sell their items at the bazaar. Tables/spaces are $30.00 each. If you or someone you know is interested in having a table at the bazaar or has any questions about the bazaar, please have them email me at pto@ecswarriors.com and I can send them a vendor registration form. Registration forms are also available at the school office.

Teddy Bear Parade Photos

Here are some pictures that a few of us took at the Teddy Bear Parade on Saturday, September 25th. For those of you who weren't able to make it, we had a good turn out and we hope you can join us next year. We may even try to make a float for the school so we can all ride. We had many signs advertising our school and we hope many will remember who we are when they are looking for an excellent school for their kids.

NFL Back to School Football Friday Photos

Thanks to everyone who attended to make our first "Tailgate Party" a success. It was fun to eat and fellowship together. We played some games, had some good conversation and took some great pictures to send to the NFL for our chance to win $10,000.00.

We have until the end of this week to submit our photos. You can help me by voting on the ones that you think would most demonstrate our event originality, our desire to promote health and wellness in our school and community, and our passion for the NFL.

Also, if you have any thoughts on how we do or how we can promote health and wellness at ECS, please leave a comment below and I might be able to use that in our final submission.

First Day of School!

Well Parents, you did it! You made it through another summer. For some of you, I know that today may have been a little hard dropping off your child, especially if this is their first day of school ever or if you were sending your youngest to school and now you have extra time on your hands that you don't know what to do with. I know I saw some smiles and some tears this morning. I hope that God was able to bless your day and that each day will get easier as the year progresses.

Eastside Christian has become like a second family for our family, it is my hope that the same will happen for you. If you are a veteran parent, comfortable with dropping off your kids, maybe you could hang around a bit for the next few days and talk with some of the mom's and dad's who are doing this for the first time. They might really appreciate the support. For those of you who are a little sad, hang around and let us know how you are feeling.

School Clean Up Day Was A Success!

Thanks to all the parents and grandparents that came out and helped clean up our school. We raked the woodchips to level out the holes under the swings and the playstructure, restained the wood playstructure, put up new white boards in one of the classrooms, and repainted the monkey bars. Nancy J. (one of our wonder volunteers) could not come on friday, but she did a wonderful job weeding and raking in front of the building. I hope you enjoy the pictures below. See you all soon.

Hello Eastside Christian School Families and Visitors!

Just a few more days until school starts. Do I hear any sighs of relief from Mom's and Dad's? Groans from the children? Actually, mine have told me they are very excited to get back to school and to see their new classrooms and teachers.

I created this blog in an effort to communicate about our school, encourage one another, brainstorm ideas, and share with others how great Eastside Christian is for us and can be for their children as well.

Please let me know if you have questions or topics you would like to discuss. I am looking forward to a great year and getting to know all of you better. Thank you for all you have already done to make this school a wonderful place for our kids.

I thought it might be nice to start the year off by posting what drew you to Eastside Christian, what you like about it, and why others might be interested in coming here too. So please post your thoughts......

Here is why I like Eastside Christian:

1. It is a small Christian School (with small class sizes)
2. It is close to my home
3. The teachers love the kids and see their work as their mission field.
4. My children are getting an excellent education.
5. I can be involved in their school lives without having to homeschool
